“Going Dutch”

As an advocate of female independence, I find that my unremitting principles with regard a woman’s right - nay, obligation - to subsist elle-même, tend to be conveniently waived when venturing into the realms of dating.  Every lady loves to be treated, but this is fundamentally an expression of the female psyche, & in essence, her inate biology.  I might be getting a little ahead of myself here, but hear me out. Women always have more to lose from any male-female encounter than their male counterpart; one bad decision and she runs the risk of being incapacitated for 9 months.  Getting “lucky” my ass.

Consequently, as a gesture of goodwill and acknowledgement of that risk, expecting male funding when engaged in dating activity is entirely justified.  To “Go Dutch” and share the cheque borrows nothing from feminist principles – unless of course, they’re all on the pill.
